Neuroimaging, Ophthalmological and CSF Biomarkers of Cognitive and visual performance in older HIV-1-infected patients with sustained viral suppression on cART in comparison to HIV-uninfected controls

HIV-Associated Neurocognitive Disorders (HAND) are commonly reported in long-term infected and treated patients. The pathogenic mechanisms underlying HAND are yet unknown. The goal of our study is to look for biomarkers of damaging effects of HIV on the central nervous system using multimodal brain imaging and interdisciplinary collaboration.
