I am fascinated by how certain behavior can spiral out of control and how this is reflected in the human brain. Current projects that I am working on are:

1) fMRI study in disordered gambling and alcohol dependence (see project Tim van Timmeren)
2) fMRI study investigating risk preferences in disordered gambling
3) fMRI study in patients with sleep disorders, investigating food-related motivation
4) PET study investigating dopamine in disordered gambling
