Neuroimaging of Deep Brain Stimulation in treatment-refractory patients with major depressive disorder
Studying the neurobiological effects of Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) in the Nucleus Accumbens (NAcc) in therapy refractory depression (TRD). The main objectives are: 1) to assess the effects of DBS on D2 receptors binding using SPECT imaging, and (2) to assess alterations in cerebral perfusion associated with DBS using functional MRI.
